Hasu Patel is the ELFA Region XIII Director. He has a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He has worked in various retail and hospital pharmacies. He started out with a small family operated hotel in Illinois. Later he found land near the Kansas City airport and built the first Econo Lodge in Kansas City, MO.

He has served as director of the Kansas City Hotel and Motel Association. Hasu is married and has two grown sons. One has graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from MO University in Columbia, MO. He is now in dental school studying to become a dentist. The other is completing his degree for the Bachelors of Science in Business Administration also at MO University in Columbia, MO.

ELFA is an independent organization with an all volunteer Board. Hasu has found serving as an ELFA director interesting, with opportunities to work with the Choice Hotels International management team and other directors from across the country. He strives to represent what he believes is to be in the best interests of the Econo Lodge Franchisee Association Memberships.
